Although the Haryana Steelers were beaten by Bengal Warriorz in the opening fixture of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, head coach Manpreet Singh emphasized that there is no cause for alarm.

“We performed admirably. Our raiding was solid and our defence held firm. Yet there’s a huge gap between clinching a match and lifting a trophy,” Singh remarked, underscoring that the defending champions’ goals extend far beyond this single outcome.

The coach quickly pointed out that the squad is still getting into its stride. “It’s extremely tough to hit peak form in the very first game. Most teams need a match or two to settle in. Once we find that rhythm, you’ll see a completely different Haryana Steelers.”

Lead raider Naveen Kumar didn’t mince words when analysing the defeat. “We lost because we didn’t follow the coach’s instructions. The boys fought hard, but we slipped up on moments like the Super Raid, which Bengal Warriorz exploited. These are minor lapses and we’ll sort them out quickly.”

Singh’s resolve also shone through. “This is merely the first step. We’re not here to tally wins and losses; we’re here to bring home the cup. That’s the only benchmark I’m setting for this team.”

Wrapping up with a message of intent, Singh warned the rest of the league. “We’ll fix our mistakes and return stronger. When this unit clicks, everyone will feel the heat. Haryana Steelers won’t just compete – we’re out to dominate.”
