Sombir U Mumba mainly plays in the Left Corner position. His career so far covers some big highlights, including:

a silver medal at the 30th Sub Junior Championship in Patna, Bihar (2019);
gold medals at the 3rd Khelo India Youth Games in Guwahati, Assam (2020) and the 5th Khelo India Youth Games (2023).

After the end of the 106 Pro Kabaddi League games in the last season, Goswami took 15th place on the list of top tackle points. In 17 games, he claimed 43 tackle points, which is a top result by any U Mumba gamer in this edition. Additionally, Sombir gained popularity with his four High 5s during the season.
